Firstly, apologies for originally posting as a reply to thread 794-71353 instead of starting a new thread, can you delete an incorrect reply?

my question

there seem to be a number of discrepancies in (f)(1) in my copy of code 2001 A03 can anyone clarify ?

subsection d) I assume 'T' in root(LT)/r should be 't'

subsection f) equations for Pe & Py are the same, should 1 have C1 & 1 have C2? or something else

Item is low pressure tank only static head + 0.2 bar

A previous post seemed to say that this section gives conserative results, any comments ?

Many thanks

Andy

Andy-

Not a section I get into often, but looks like some typos were corrected in the 2004 ed:

d) the formula for phi is sqrt(Lt)/r
f) and g) formulas for Pe and Py differ in the allowable stress used: the Pe formula uses Se while the Py formula uses Sy.

many thanks jt

not something I 've really bothered with myself, I generally use PD 5500 which just does not allow thin ends, but the results I get show its something I shall keep an eye on in future
