I am currently evaluating the composite floor beams of an existing building from 1964. Does anyone know what the typical steel grade of studs was at this time?
Thanks,

Unless some specialty application, they were generally mild steel (ASTM A29,A36, etc.). Obviously weldable and likely with yield in the low 30 ksi range and ultimate strength in the 50+ ksi range.

Contact Stanley Engineered Products (now the owner of Nelson studs).

LPS for Ron. He's exactly right.
