Dear Team,

F468 grade 625 manufactured by rolling operation and heat treatment (annealing) done on the bar prior to manufacture of studs. No annealing done after the rolling operation is completed. Is it acceptable

Regards,

Ratheesh

What does F468 say about that? In fact, F468 has the last say, else it is not F468.

F468 doesnt state the stage of heat treatment .. Concern is the impact of metallurgy and mechanical properties after rolling operation .So did the re-heat treatment is required ...

You have already answered your question, if F468 is silent then it is acceptable as per F468.

But make sure that F468 does not ref another material spec that does require anneal. Many 625 specs have two or three acceptable HT conditions (none, full solution, SR anneal).
