Hello, quick question:

Is a 4000V IP24W IC01 motor suitable to be located outdoors in a really rainy power plant?

What about IP24W IC 411? Does this combination even exist?

Many thanks,
JBC

That’s the equivalent of NEMA WPII, considered weather proof here in North America. I would say it’s fine.

The IC411 is equivalent to our TEFC, which may be difficult to find in MV motors of any larger size. You didn’t mention what power rating your motor is.

Hi jraef,

Thanks for your replay. I think the same as you but I wanted to have another point of view

MV motors to be installed range from 800 to 2500 kW

In my experience you can get 4000V TEFC motors up to about 2500HP (1865kW). Above that they are rare. But most people use WPII because of cost. TEFC is expensive in large sizes like that.
