hi all
the area spring stiffness is very confusing in sap2000,
i need to settle this issue, if the soil bearing capacity is 10 t/m2, what the area spring constant would be??

my old knowladge it would be from 100 to 120 times the bearing capacity in t/m2 units thats make it 1000-1200, is that correct?
thx to all

I am not an expert in soil, but, from reading in Bowles' book " foundation analysis and design", there is a table giveing qu versus ks such as
clayey soil:
qu less than 200 kPa ; ks =12000-24000 kN/m3
200 <qu< 400 kPa; ks=24000-48000 kN/m3

So the ratio you metioned above does not agree with these numbers.
Good luck
