hi, i am looking for a software that can design and analyse various calculations of poles(street light poles and solar light poles). need to calculate various types of loads its strength and all about street light poles and solar light poles
pls suggest the best software to do this.

Also a pole ( cantilever) should be easy to design by hand

The poles themselves are usually load rated to a specific wind speed and equivalent pressure area (EPA) of fixture. If you'r doing concrete piers for the poles to attach to at the base IBC has some prescriptive equations that can be used, read the footnotes for these carefully. If your doing very tall poles and deep pier foundation embedments then you'd likely want to look at some pile analysis software.

PLS-Pole is the go-to program in the utility industry for tapered tubular poles made out of bent plate. I'm not sure if your poles will be tapered but if so, you may want to look into it.

i think pls pole is for transmission line poles not for street light or solar light poles

If you're doing standard tapered poles (0.14"/ft), the taper is enough that the section at the base plate or the handhole (if you have one) is critical. It's a straight M/S < F. The only tricky part is getting the section properties at a reinforced handhole, but you can get those easily from most of the popular CAD software packages by drawing it up to scale and clicking the button for it to calculate them.

@Akashrajtr8, PLS-Pole is certainly used for transmission poles (and that is their main market) but it is pretty versatile. I believe it does everything you asked for in your original post. You can define taper and/or bottom and top diameters as well as if the pole is round, square, octagon, etc. You can apply wind, ice, and equipment loads and define any load combinations that you want. It will perform design checks per the following codes: ASCE 48, TIA/EIA 222-F, ANSI/TIA 222-G, AS/NZS 7000 48.
I am not familiar with light pole design or if there is another code published specifically for them (AASHTO perhaps?) that you would need to use for design, but if not, PLS-Pole seems to hit on what you are asking for.

There could also be much more specific design software out there, I'm just not aware of it either.

AASHTO does have specifications that cover light poles. The newest one is "LRFD Specifications for Structural Supports for Highway Signs, Luminaires, and Traffic Signals". There's also the older "Standard Specifications for Structural...".

OP - The pole doesn't know whether its supporting transmission lines or street lights.

I am not familiar w/ PLS Pole, but as long as you can select the appropriate geometry and material of the pole in the software, PLS Pole should work.

I would just use excel and perform the calcs in that. Dcotor it up a bit with some autocad sketches inserted. Why do you have to have software??
