Hi,

I´d like to use a mathcad-sheet in Excel for making some calculations.

I found the traject.xls on the mathsoft homepage. But this one only works fine with Excel 97 (german version). I´d like to use Excel 2003 (german version).

When I try the traject.xls in Excel 2003 with Mathcad 12 I got problems with floating point number.

Means:

I type 2,3 in the excel-worksheet and mathcad calculates with 23.

(But it works on Excel 97: typing 2,3 à calculating with 2.3)

Does anyone know this problem.. or maybe a solution?

Thanks

Sounds like Mathcad is confusing the European decimal comma with the US decimal point. So it is treating the comma as just a thousands separator and ignoring it. Have you checked both are coding the decimal the same way?

That´s what I think too… but as I wrote before:

There´s no problem with Excel 97 and Mathcad 8. There the comma is interpreted the right way.
It´s only when I use Excel 2003 and Mathcad 12.

*confused*

I think there have to be some settings I have to change… but I don´t know which.

Or did they change the OLE-Automation-Interface? Do you know something?

Thanks in advance

Did You ever try to change the settings in Excel 2003. It is possible to set the decimal separator to "point" instead of "comma".

You can find it in "Extras" - "Optionen" - "International" in Excel 2003! Set it to "point" for the separator and disable "Trennzeichen vom Betriebssystem übernehmen" Checkbox!

It is worth trying - good luck!
