hi
i wonder if anyone tell me how does pvelite(or VIII div.1) calculate the mawp of nozzle and nozzle reinforcement?

taba94, calculation of MAWP of a cylinder (nozzle?) is straightforward. For nozzle reinforcement, the usual approach would be, holding all dimensions fixed, increment the pressure, perform all the relevant calculations and repeat until some aspect of the calculations no longer make. A looping routine.

The problem with sloppy work is that the supply FAR EXCEEDS the demand

would u introduce me a source to study about it? is it in the asme or ...?

regards

taba94, in ASME Sec VIII, Div. 1 those calculations are per UG-37 and related parts.

there is noting in ug-37 to compute mawp of the nozzle. in the pvelite we get just a report of final value that says "Converged Max. Allow. Pressure in Operating case = --- ".
there is a way in app.1-10 to calculate it but there is nothing in anywhere in asme bpvc.
