Hi,

I want to do an analysis in which I have two steps. The question is I want to know how it is possible to consider some special elements in one step. I have attached a simple model regarded to this question.

In the file attached, I considered a sheet in which a 30N force is applied in Y direction in step1. I want to have a load in X direction in step2 (20N) with the new boundary condition. The thing is that I want to omit the left half of the sheet in step 2 and just consider the right half of that in this step. But I do not know how it is possible to delete some elements in one step and do not consider them.

Did you look at the keyword
*Model change
?
You will be able to remove of reactivate elements during an analysis.

Would you please let me know how can I use this keyword?

I have checked ABAQUS user manual and it is mentined that I should use "Interaction module: Create Interaction: Model Change: Definition:Region, Activation state of region elements: Reactivated in this step", but I could not find this keyword in interaction. I have not used keywords in ABAQUS. Please let me now how can I use keywords in ABAQUS?

Sorry for the late response.
You should do that by modifying your input files (.inp) because I do not think this is available in CAE.
Input files consist of keywords with arguments such as
*Node
1, 11., -0.600000024
2, 0., -0.600000024

Good luck
