Hi!
I am new to abaqus and I need to model a fluid-structure interaction. this is a wave-structure interaction problem in which a sepecific wave flow acts on a deformable soild 3D frame structure. in version 6.10 that I have currently, one has to use ABAQUS/CFD or ABAQUS/Standard and the fluid section is off in standard/Explicit version. SO it is not possible to model water and structure simultaneously,
I would appreciate if one helps me.
(I saw Jlog50 and oriol discussion but I have some specific questions and I could not contact them :(

ABAQUS/CFD has very limited capability. It cannot even simulate steady state flow.

They have the so-called "Co-Simulation" which they claim can couple CFD with structural analysis, but when you use it you will find it is really a pain in the neck.

I would recommend to avoid ABAQUS/CFD unless you really don't have a choice.

Thanks,
I have the same idea. Currently, I am working with Coupled Eulerian Lagrangian (CEL) capabilities of abaqus and it seems to work fine!
Have you worked with it?

Nop, never touched their CEL stuff. I only use ABAQUS for structural analysis.
