Hi All,

Can someone tell me how to create a dwg border as in the past I have just either used company borders or college borders and now want to create my own.

Whats the best way of going about it.

Cheers

Hey v8,

Basically, you create a new part, and go into drafting. Use the line and curve tools to draw out your border (also refered to as a title block in other topics in this forum).

Now, when you save the part, you want to go to the "Save Options" under File -> Options.

Select the "Pattern Data Only" radio button, and click OK or apply. This will designate this part as a pattern.

Now, go into a part file where you want to use the title block. In drafting, click Format -> Pattern -> Retreive Pattern. Leave the scale at 1.0 and click OK, and then select the part file that you just created.

Now specify where you want the pattern to be placed, click OK, and there it is!

NOW, here is the catch: You will need to create a title block "pattern" for each size drawing you want to create, so organize your file names accordingly.

As I mentioned, there have been several posts on this topic, so search for "title block" in this forum for more information.

Something tells me that this topic would make a good FAQ???
