Hello,
I am trying to extract the geometry from an orphan mesh in Abaqus. I have elements in 3D (element type=C3D4) and i need to get the geometry in 3D.
Thank you very much for your help.

Hi mimarcoe,

You should take a look at the "3D Mesh to Geometry" plug-in that is advertised here:

I'm not sure whether this plug-in is included free-of-charge in more recent versions of Abaqus or if it must be purchased independently. You should contact the Simulia BENELUX office and ask them.

Good luck,
Dave

Thank you very much for your help,
In the video this plugin works, but do you know if this option is only available in 6.10 version? I have the 6.12 version and i don't see the "Create geometry from mesh" in part module/plug-ins/tools
Thank you Dave442

Hi Mimarcoe,

It says on the website that the 3D Mesh-to-Geometry plug-in was developed by the Simulia BENELUX office and it can be ordered directly from them. So I'm guessing you will probably have to pay for it. The contact details for the Simulia BENELUX office are provided on the website.

Good luck,
Dave
