Hi,

INPUT:
Please consider that the dish end type is semi-ellipsoidal (2:1).
ID=2000mm
THK.=25mm
According to ASME Sec. VIII Div.-1_UG-32 (c), I could see the rules for determining C.R, K.R., & height (h) which we can find by this calc. h=D/4

Please derive it and provide your result with the given input.

Thanks and Regards,

So is there a question here? Sounds more like homework.

2:1 means that the ID of the larger axis of the ellipsoid "D" is 2X the ID of the smaller axis "d", or d = D/2. But the head is semi-ellipsoidal (half of an ellipsoid), so the projection h (based on the ID) is d/2 = (D/2)/2 = D/4.

The distance from the tangent line to the outermost surface of the head would be D/4 + tnom where tnom is the nominal thickness of the head.

The distance from the weld seam to the outermost surface of the head would be D/4 + tnom + SF where SF is the length of the head straight flange.
