It seems with new version, when you apply machine surface symbol, it snaps to some point relative to the view window. Does anyone know how to keep it relative to the cursor location as it was in past versions? This issue is in UgNX7.5

Check the placement options in the dialog box before you place your symbol (you may have to expand an option group to see them), turn off the ones you don't want. If that still doesn't give you what you want, try holding down the 'alt' key when placing the symbol (this will override the default snap action).

I should be a little clearer. This is the machine surface symbol that is part of a General Motors "KBTD" tool kit. The regular finish symbol has several options available once toggled. This has nothing when you hit the tool bar icon. I tried the "alt" key with no luck. Thanks for your reply

Sorry, I'm unfamiliar with the GM toolkit.

Make sure that the 'Snap to Grid' option is toggled OFF in the...

Preferences -> Grid and Work Plane...

...dialog.

This is toggled off.
