Hi guys,
could anyone tell me how to improve the 'smoothness' of displayed curves in the model space. I was wondering if there was some setting to do this. My curves are quite 'segmented'.

many thanks,
James

Is this happening as you zoom in (magnify) your image? If so, may I suggest that you try performing a...

View -> Layout -> Update Display

If you're going to be doing this alot, you can use Customize to assign a hotkey sequence to execute this command, or do as I've done, again using Customize, I added an icon to my View toolbar which executes the 'Update Display' command by just selecting it.

Could also be graphics card related. What are your hardware specs?

Cool, 'update display' works great, where can I find info about the 'customise' function to do this?

I have just got a new nvidia quadro card so that should work fine.

Many thanks guys!

Go to the NX Help document and search on "customize toolbar" and when the list of hits comes up select the one which reads "Customize dialog box overview". There you will find information on how to customize your menus and toolbars. Now if you select the 'How to' option at the top of the page you get a 'List of Procedures for the Customize dialog box'. From this list select the one that reads "Create new commands" and it will give you a short tutorial on how to do this. Basically what I did was when I was in 'Customize' (which you activate by selecting in the 'gray' area at the top of the NX window where the Toolbars are located and go to bottom of the list that pops-up) I just opened the View -> Layout menu and while holding down the 'Ctrl' key I just dragged the 'Update Display' menu item to my View toolbar. Now that I have the command there, if you select the new item (while still in Customize) you will get a list of things that you can do such as change the icon and other things (these are all discussed in the docs I recommended above that you look at). After you've done this, it's critical that you save your Role or it will eventually be lost at the next Role change.

Anyway, give it a shot and let me know how it works out.
