Hello

I would like to make a few groups of tools in Machine Tool View. Every group of tools will be for a different material. And how to connect it with "Create Operation" window like in the picture ?

Create a Carrier from the create tool dialog
Then place the tools in the Carier. You could also add the pockets to the carier and place the tools in the pockets. You cannot connect a groop of tools to an operation. An operation can only use 1 tool.

Thanks joycejo for request. "An operation can only use 1 tool" I know that but as I show on the picture I want to create another one choice in the create operation dialog. First You choose a group of tools and then in "Tool" position You have only tools which belong for this one group, the rest is eliminated. I hope I make myself enough clear.

No, I still don't understand what you want?

It sould like you need to create a template.

have you read the help docs on customizing CAM?

You are trying to "filter" the results in the tool selection drop down by material they are used for.

I can't think of an easy way to do this.

I would simply add a tag to the tool name i.e.

STEEL-1.0-ENDMILL
STEEL-0.500-BORE
TITAN-.750-MILL
TITAN-.500-MILL
ALUM-.125-4FLUTE
ALUM-0.030-DRL

etc, etc.

At least this way you can easily see and choose what you want.

Yes, Jaydenn this is what I was talking about but I still don`t know how to do it. Probably creating templates ( for each material - one template with specific tools ) or adding a tag/description are for now the only ways to do it. Thanks for request.
