How to perform multiple consecutive distance analysis

As far as I know, giving the analysis-->distance command allows us only 1 distance measurement. After I get the results, the interface turns off. I am really bored of giving the distance command repetitively. Is there a way of measuring multiple distances using the same command?

when you pick the first two objects that you want to distance for the next one all you need to do is look at the distance toolbar that comes up when you use it there are two icons that look like dim's pick on the 2nd one and pick the new second string that you want a distance to. Or vise versa you could keep the 2nd one and repick the 1st one

If the interface is dismissed, then you're clicking MB2 one too many times.

It would also help greatly if you (and everyone else) would include the version of NX you're using since there have been many changes to most of the inquiry tools in the last 3 years.

The above is assuming you're using NX3 or newer.

Tim, you're right. I am using NX3. But the issue is not related with too many times MB2 clicking. The measure interface does not dissappear after measurement, it simply does not allow you to select any other 2 points for measurement.

But ideauser is right on his suggestion. But the problem there is you cannot measure a totally different place just after you measure one.

The second and third icons in the distance dialogue box are the first and second points to measure the distance.
The info icon gives the information in a seperate window.

You can continue measuring distance as long as you continue click on the point icons.
Click on first point,click on second point,gives the distance,again click on first point icon,select a new point,it gives a new distance.

You can perform multiple measurements on multiple objects by following the steps given by ideasuser and geo12. You need to click on the 2nd and 3rd icons of the Distance dialog bar. Also, don't forget the Snap Point toolbar needs to be set accordingly as well.

I have a my clickies box set up (just your typical icons that you click all the time) set off to the side and I just reclick the distance icon after each query.

Just makes it easier for me.

Of course, all of this has been resolved with NX 4 where you just keep picking, as you would expect you could.
