How to pick a point on ellipse 1

Hi,

I was trying to create a curve accross a ellipse(as picture), however I couldn't pick a point on the ellipse, every time I click on the ellipse it automatically pick the center. I believe I should turn on/off something, I tried but could found, could anybody let me know where is that button?

You want 'Point on Curve' turned on (see image).
