Dear happy users of Abaqus,

I have defined a relatively complex geometry and I am trying to export the values of a limited selection of elements.
To select the relevant elements when visualizing the results contained in an odb file, I would need to be able to redefine the Front/Back and Top views based on the user-defined coordinate system of my choice.

Is there a way to do that?

Thanking you in advance.

Regards,

You can use the View —> Save option for this purpose.

Thanks. But it can be tedious to define the desired view accurately.
I wish to use the user-defined CS.

Can you think of another way?

This option only saves the current view for later use. How you obtain the view is another thing. There are several options available for that (View —> Specify) but they don’t operate on user-defined coordinate systems. For that, you would need some Python script.
