Hi all,
Can you clarify, for AM-process simulation within AM-plugin, how to characterize a bead width and height?
What i understood, if my layer height(from prinitng parameters) is: 0.2mm and in abaqus my Hex DC3D8 element size is also: 0.2mm so i can say my bead width and height is 0.2mm. Is it correct or not, give your inputs.

What kind of AM process do you want to simulate ? You can specify bead height and width using ABQ_AM_MaterialDeposition_Bead parameter table.

Hi FEA WAY,
I am simulating FFF process, and following the knowledge base examples of Mobius Arm, where i can define bead height and width as you said for LDED example set in ABQ_AM_MaterialDeposition_Bead parameter table, but i want to know based on what background knowledge we can select the bead width and height? like depending on mesh/element size or what?

These are the process parameters, you should be able to determine them from real life printing. Otherwise, just estimate them (assume some values that you think are reasonable).

okay thanks, so the idea of their assumption, for example layer height (as it have same width and height) from real life printing, and an approximate same size of mesh would be authentic?

Ho FEA WAy,
My simulation for laser based and FDM based process is working well, creating frames and all, but to see the results with any Primary NT11 or Eactive state its giving an error, as attached below, I am using Abaqus/CAE 2019.

Check the generated input file and verify whether the field output is requested properly or not. Also check the output text files (msg, dat) for warning messages. They might explain why some variables are not saved.
