How to work on the inside of a model?

Hello,

I'm looking to get on the inside of a model and do some work. In other codes the 'perspective' view will allow this, however it doesn't seem to work in NX.

For example, if you have a hollow box, I would like to manipulate the view to get inside of the closed box and, say, fillet some edges on the inside or something.

There's a video on how to do this with cameras and whatnot, but it appears that's just for rendering images. I want to actually work with this view.

Anyone know how to do this?
Thanks!

Try Clip Work Section... you can use a box of planes that will clip the view to only the area that you want to work in.

There is an obscure feature in NX known as 'Navigate' which will do what you want dynamically and while under full use control in your current display window. It was originally found at...

View ->> Operation -> Navigate

...but on most recent versions of NX, at least since NX 7.5, you will need to use 'Customize' to resurrect the 'Navigate' item back onto the View -> Operation menu (you will want to also resurrect the 'Navigate Options...' item as well). Note that this function uses mouse gestures to 'fly' through your models along with modifiers using control keys. Note that when in the 'Navigate' mode, your cursor symbol will be replaced with a small 'airplane' and hints for the control-key based modifiers will be visible in the 'Que and Status' line. A WARNING: Unless you're an experienced video-gamer you may find the use of a mouse while holding-down control keys a bit awkward, but if you do this a lot, you'll get the hang of it.

Or starting with NX 7.5, using the new 'See-Thru' mode, particularly if you select the 'See-Thru Layers' option or NX 8.5 where we automatically put you in the 'See Thru' mode (if you have the 'See-Thru Preview' option toggled ON in Visualization Preferences) when you're adding features to an existing body.

I usually will have two different solid bodies when working on a model with an inside and an outside. So To work on the inside of the part I just turn of the outside body and work on the inside body or Vice versa. Then I have a boolean to cut the two away near the end of the history tree.

What I do is to chenge traslucency of the faces I dont want to see to 20% or less
