I am used to use the Geostick (or Geoprobe)to verify the bearing capacity of a foundation soil during construction.
The conical end varies in diameter f4om 1/2" to 1". The 1" is the one I used during my early days as a geotechnical engineer (working for Schnabel Engineering in MD). Currently I work for myself and I am using a 1/2" dia. cone which (the only one I can find in the market)which does not seem to do the same job.
Does any one have a similar exprience with the Geostick?
