I went from Mathcad 14 to Mathcad Prime 4.0
I am trying to move several of my work sheets from Mathcad 14 to Mathcad Prime 4.0 and am not finding where in the text field I can show a text of the variables I am using with a sub script.
I have just tried to draft the language in WORD and past it into the text field.
Does Mathcad Prime 4.0 support a text with a sub script.
If not what are some ways of showing a text with a sub script. I need to have this feature so I can define the variables I am using.
Thanks for any tips.

you should move to Mathcad 15...and NOT to Prime ...
Prime is still under development... not sure if they will ever finish it !?!?

...maybe move to SMath Studio... no rental issues.

One annoying thing about SMath is there is still no global variable definition, i.e., ~ instead of :. Often, it's nice to have the variable definitions just above the output plots, but you then need to use ~ to define the variables so that the cluster of calcs get the right values to get to the plots.

IRStuff,
That can be solved in Smath simply by changing the way you organize your work. You can define all of the global variables on the first sheet (in the RH page margin if you want to hide them). Below, where you want to call them up again, just write "X=" and you can see the value beside the plot.

Doesn't Prime have the same limitation?

But, I don't want to just see them; I want to be able to change them and see the outputs change in real time. The alternative is that I have to carry EVERYTHING as functions, which can be done, but it's a PITA.

I'm not sure what the issue is, but, I often declare variables and they stay that way until they're changed. What I can't do is to call a function that I've written in another program; that would be really handy. I can also declare units such as attached. In addition, I can redefine units... in the program 'lb' defaults to lbm. I can redefine 'lb' to mean lbf.

Below is an example of what I mean. n.wid.MW and n.wid.LW are globally defined, meaning they behave as if they were already defined at the start of the sheet and all the processing between the start of the sheet and the plots use the values defined here. This saves scrolling up to make a change and then scrolling down to see the results.

I am not upgrading my mathcad13. I discovered sympy and I am remaking my Mathcad files in python. It often does a better job than Mathcad when it comes to solving a system of equations for unknowns. scipy has better optimizers than Mathcad.
python, numpy, scipy, matplotlib, sympy, lmfit, pyqt5 are all free so I can share what I have done around the office.

What I miss is the units conversion of Mathcad.
