I have been trying to get the right voltage to my mosfet so it works right. I need it to open up all the way. Can only get it to come on just a little. I have included a diagram so you can see what i'm doing. 5 volt source comes from 12 volt source via a positive voltage regulator. All power comes from a bank of 12 volt batteries. This is suposse to run my DC motor for me. Motor has 1 ohm of resistance. I have tried removing the 316 ohm resistor to get more volts to the Mosfet gate but it only helped a little. Getting so fustrated with this simple little circuit. Feel free to make up a new diagram for me with new resistor values or just let me know what they should be. thanks guys.

Proprietary schematic format is pretty much useless for anyone else. Picture is better. What does the datasheet say?

The problem is obvious. Once the FET turns on the voltage on L1 subtracts from the gate drive. The load should be on the + supply side of the fet.
