Hello All,
As per KM-251 in DIV3 : "The Charpy V-notch impact values specified in KM-234.2 are established at upper shelf energy levels that are required for most high-strength, low-alloy steels. The designer does not need to provide any test information to use upper shelf correlations for these materials."
KM-234.2 Specify 68 J for avg of 3 specimens in Long Direction.
I'm bit confused with KM-251 statement. from KM-234.2 requirement, I understand that material shall as min have 68J energy value at MDMT temp.
Is this 68J shall be Upper shelf energy value for material as per KM-251??
