Is it possible to import expressions from Excel and update existing expressions?

For example, lets say we had a model of tire rim already in use but now we want to import pilot, bolt circle, bolt hole dia, number of bolt holes, width, etc.

Thanks all!

Not directly, but there are two approaches that you could take.

First you can export the 'Expressions' from your spreadsheet into a text file which could then be imported into the NX Expression dialog of a Part file. See the attached file for a simple example of the text file format showing a couple of options, such as how you indicate the units of the expression and how one would add comments.

Or you could use the Spreadsheet edit function in the Expression dialog to open a spreadsheet into which you could copy & paste the 'expressions' from your spreadsheet as long as you made sure the format was correct (you could experiment with how the system expects to see the expressions by taking some of your existing parts and opening the Expression dialog and selecting the Spreadsheet Edit button at the top of the dialog and then examining how the expressions were display in the spreadsheet. As long as you are able to match up the formatting scheme you should be good to go.
