Hello,

I have a question in NX 8.5 Drawing.

For example:
- I have a NX part with basic unit inches.
- In this part I created a drawing
- The dimension is shown like: 4.7244
- is it possible to display like this: 4.7244"

I am able to get this " output manually editing the text.

Wanted to know if there is an option, that can help me directly use it to change all dimensions or make the settings before I place dimensions. please let me know the steps if any.

Thanks in advance.

You can only get automatic ' " ' symbol with Fractional dimensions and then only when creating either Architectural or Engineering Feet/Inch dimensions.

To an Engineer, the glass is twice as big as it needs to be.

You can add it as appended text (after) and reduce the gap between the dimension and appended text as shown in the attached.
Not quite the best route to take but it will work.

Thanks jerry1423 & JohnRBaker

I used same steps before asking the question. I asked question just to know if there was any option available to get it automatically, like JohnRBaker replied with. but unfortunately it works with fractions only.

Thanks for your reply

Just put a general note on your drawing like: "All dimensions in inches unless specified otherwise". Some people/shops might not be familiar with the "inch mark" notation; best practice is to make it perfectly clear what units are used.
