does anybody know how to increase dielectric strength in rubber compounds

I don't.
Mike, how is it done?

Half full - Half empty? I don't mind. It's what in it that counts.

I read oil, sulfur increase dielectric strength in cured EPDM.

What type of rubber compound and what level of dielectric strength is desired (volts/mil)?

EPDM insulation jacket. desired is 2000 volts/mil

Increased oil and sulfur levels may not quite get you there, 2000 volts/mil is higher than normal EPDM dielectric strength.
You may consider reducing or eliminating carbon black content as this helps. Also there has been some success in "doping" or
filling EPDM with silicone like materials.

Is this something you are trying to spec out as a premade cable jacket or a jacket material that you will apply over a group of
wires/conductors?

I didn't say that _I_ knew.
I just answered the question as asked.
... and sure enough, someone showed up.

thank you jimhan. Yes this is for cable jacket. I don't use carbon black but I'll try silicon like material.

how about mica? Mica has the highest dielectric strength.

Mylar is an interesting thought. I'm not sure how that could be incorporated into the EPDM material but I'd like to know.

mylar is a film. How is it going to be mixed in with EPDM. I'll try mica as a powder
