Industrial racking permitting process

I work for an industrial racking company in the United States and we are beginning to bid projects in the UK, however, I cannot seem to find whether the UK has the same set of rules, regulations and permitting as the United States in relation to fire sprinkers, egress, architects, general contractors, fire alarms, etc. Any help in this area would be greatly appreciated.
