Inerting a logo into a sketch.

I have a logo in a few various formats... jpg, gif, and tiff. What would be the easiest way to convert this logo into a sketch, so I can extrude the actual logo. Is tracing the only method?

they have a program called picture works that converts those to vector files.

HiJaak is a program that reads over 100 formats and converts between them. It also has a raster-to-vector conversion which would allow you to generate a .dxf file, which you could bring into a sketch like an AutoCAD drawing.

If you have Adobe Illustrator available (try Kinko's), you can use it to convert vector components of .ai, .eps, and .pdf files to .dxf for use in CAD programs.

You can also place an image into SW and trace it with in a sketch. Check out inserting an image in the help.

Try Wintopo. It as a freeware version that you can use to raster your tif image and create a dxf file. Then just import the image into SW.
