hi,

I want to input the displacement of node as a boundary condition.

For example, I have a set of nodes, whose displacements are listed in a text file. I want to use a script to read the file, and set the displacements as a boundary condition.

Anybody know how to do this?

You could use mapped field for that. When setting a displacement BC, press the f(x) button next to "Distribution", select "Mapped field" and define the data as point cloud (coordinates and corresponding displacement values) or ODB mesh.

Thanks for your prompt reply, its work..
May i know what displacement field that should I apply? Is it the max displacement (the displacement field before failure)?

Tq.

That depends on what you want to simulate. If you want to load till failure then apply displacement field values (max displacement) till failure.
