INSTANCE BUG ??

I've just been playing with the instance goemetry feature,
i noticed that editing is a bit dodgy...
i instanced a few curves, along a path, by percentage of arc length, 3 copies, by 20%.
if i edit and change the 20%, to 2% (enter), it emidiately updates the display, but when i OK out it goes back again, so i edit again, and (press enter) on the highlighted 2% (shown correctly edited), and its only this time it actually updates properly (NX5,0,2,2)

Its only when you edit with roll back this bug occurs, edit perameters, its OK, but it doesn't preview the change, it changes when you OK out.

I don't have any problems at all doing an Edit With Rollback in NX 5.0.3.2.

I faced similar problem when I was trying to replace the section curve for Revolve, in NX4. I was not successful in replacing the string by using "Edit with Rollback", but as you pointed out, "Edit parameters" worked fine. I think "Edit with Rollback" has bug!

One more similar problem I faced is in drafting, I gave "+Limit 2Lines" tolerance to a dimension, i.e. 20.02/20.01. Now I tried to interchange the tolerance values i.e. I tried to make it 20.01/20.02, which never happened. Whether I change upper limit or lower limit only the first value (20.02 in this case) was getting changed.

The workaround I found here was, I changed the type of tolerance from "+Limit 2Lines" to "Bilateral tolerance" and changed back to "+Limit 2Lines", it worked fine!

This happened in both NX2 and NX4.

I really don't have any clue about this bug!!!

Man,

With respect to you drafting tolerance editing 'bug', I'm sorry, but I have no problems whatsoever in performing the edit that which you described in the manner in which you would like to do it. It works perfect, PERIOD!

Note that I tested this with BOTH NX 2.0.6.2 and NX 4.0.4.2.

Now as for your comment about 'Edit With Rollback', it's true that when we introduced it in NX 4 there were some issues and we've addressed them as far as I can tell. I know the PR's I opened have all been addressed, either in an NX 4 maintenance release or NX 5. Now if you're qble to reproduce the 'Replace Profile String' that you decribed, please contact GTAC so that we can verify if it has been fixed and if not, so that we can get an example of the problem so that we can work on it since 'Edit With Rollback' is going to be our go-forward strategy.
