Hello
I notice that most extinguishment requirement in NFPA 5000 for different application always mention the class I stand pipe only to be used in most application if it apply to its requirement, does this mean that the building must have stand pipe class II if it is protected by sprinkler system?
If this is true where in the code this is mentioned?

Hello,

Installing Standpipe Class II is independent from whether the building requires sprinklers and/or Standpipe Class I systems. NFPA does not have general requirements as to where Standpipe Class II shall be used like they have for Standpipe Class I systems. It is the responsibility of the AHJ and/or local codes to specify that.

Having said that, there are specific places where NFPA requires hose lines to be installed. Check NFPA 1 section 13.2 for more details.

Hope this helps.
