Someone let me know if this product will even be supported anymore. I heard that this will be part of the Inventor series basically meaning they're going to try to put all MD users to Inventor. True?

Mechanical desktop is dying, as you said they offer it in the inventor package just to convert user to inventor and after a while they will get rid of MDT. And to be sure that you're not going to go with another cad software than inventor they will offer you a very good price for the package of inventor if you already have MDT.

sorry

If you are forced to move to Inventor, you will be forced to learn another program. Since will be learning another program, might as well make it Solidworks.

Thanks guys, we're moving to Solid Edge

I switched to solid edge a month ago and trust me even if it's a very good products at the beginning it's hard to get rid of the mdt way of working and to adapt to the way solid edge thinks.

But after a while everything will be just fine and except for some details that SE doesn't permit that you could do with Mechanical desktop you will be able to do so much things that you couldn't do before that help a lot.

Good luck
