is "update display" broken in v1899?

Before I call for help....

I have a round part that fits in a meter sized cube. Some of it are displayed are linear sections, in V12 "update display" fixed the problem, but not in 1899. (This smells of millennial meddling.)

Any suggestions?

Regards, Frank

Sounds like the tessellation settings. Go to preferences -> visualization -> performance -> accuracy -> advanced
For piece parts and small assemblies I like to use:
resolution: standard
facet scale: view
update: visible bodies and curves
Align facets along edges: on

If you are working in an assembly, note that NX now uses a "minimal load" option as the default. This is a lightweight body that often shows bad tesselation. You can right click on your component in the navigator and use the "show exact" option (this will fully load the component part). Changing your visualization preferences in your assembly part (as above) might also take care of it. Alternately, you can change your load options to "partially" or "fully" load the parts (this might be undesirable if you are working with really large assemblies).

Thanks Mr. "Cowski" for the reply. I asked around and one of designers had previously solved the problem. I changed to partially loaded in load options and view in preferences/visualization/performance/accuracy/advanced. Good enough for my needs (CNC programming)

Thanks again for taking the time to reply.

Partial loading will not change anything, that option will still load the solid body but not the defining feature data.( this to shorten loading time)
what does change this is the "lightweight display", then NX only displays a set of facets which roughly shows the shape of that solid, this set cannot be updated unless you right click in the assembly navigator "Show exact", NX will then display the solid and that can be "Update displayed".

Tomas

If "lightweight display" is utilized I do not believe the solid edges of intersecting bodies will show will show, and that could be the problem here.

Guys, thank you for the help. BUT. I changed the load options from "Minimally load - light weight display" to "partially load", that fixed 95% of the display issue. The balance was improved by the facet scale setting under performance/accuracy/advanced, I changed from part to view.

We use master models for all out CNC programming, hence everything is an assembly. Load options are a huge part.

I do have another question, that is why does the gang at Siemens change stuff like the load option settings, and the location/order of menus in releases of the the product? More over why do they not apply the changes to all the menus.
Is it the evil millennials at work here?

Never had 1899 loaded but does it have the "show exact" with the vertical diamond in front in the options when right picking on a component in the assembly navigator?
