Checking the PIP's and IHS for "diagram number" I too find nothing.

Numbering systems for PFDs, P&IDs, sketches and drawings are very often client preference. Is this for a grass roots facility that you are setting up a new drawing system for?

Yes it is for a grass roots facility that i am setting up a new drawing system for.

I'm out of town at the moment. Let me talk to my piping group when I get back, they typically handle this rather than myself on some of the more typical ways.
