Whenever I export shell force and stesses to excel in Sap2000 v23, the outputs are all exported as computed from individual elements (unaveraged), but, I want to export the averaged ones to excel. (I can see it on the graphical output window, But,I want to export that to excel). So, is there an option to do that?

Hi,

Been away from SAP since I retired nearly a decade ago, but I try to keep sharp with my Excel skills, which I enjoy.

I don't know the specific answer to your question. However, there may be an Excel method by which you could accomplish this task, which I assume occurs with some degree of regularity.

1) EXPORT your file as a .csv and IMPORT into Excel. This you and EVERY user ought to do in each and every instance when generating data from another application for use in Excel. The process steps are a) EXPORT .csv file, b) IMPORT data into Excel via Data > Get External Data > Text Files... and then specify the DELIMITER, and the DATA TYPE of each column of data being imported.
2) Having IMPORTED your data into Excel, on a separate sheet PASTE SPECIAL VALUES all the data and construct your formula to AVERAGE the data. Or you can use MS Query to do the whole thing.

Now the beauty of this approach is in the customization that can be accomplished using VBA procedures to a) code the IMPORT where all you need do is provide the filename & path of the .csv file. By simply REFRESHING the IMPORT manually, the user, that would be you, can pick a file and then b) the COPY n PASTE can be easily recorded or if using MS Query, the query can be refreshed. As a practice I code all my queries in VBA.

If you choose to go this route and you need help customizing VBA, I suggest posting your questions in
