Is there any item in ACI about expansion joints for underground structures?

Hi,

I need to know that According to ACI, is expansion joint required for underground structures?
Is there any item that is limitated expansion joints for structures or underground structures in ACI?

Please urgently I need to know this... Thanks

I don't think it is required.....but depending on the size of the structure, I would think it would be unavoidable in certain circumstances. ACI 224 talks about joints for tunnels and so forth.
 
ACI is very cagey about requiring joints. There's a lot of "as required" and "if necessary" with construction and expansion joints. If this is an underground tank, maybe ACI 350 might be a little more specific, but I doubt it.
There's just too many variables to dictate spacing of EJs or CJs.
