Is there standard /design guides for structures supporting crusher specifically steel frame support structure for cone crushers like the one shown below?

I mean similar to ISO 5049/ AS4324 /DIN2226, etc, used for continuous bulk handling of material like conveyor structures.

I am not aware of specific crusher standards but the main areas to focus on are dynamics and fatigue. Hopefully the manufacture can give you some acceptance criteria otherwise you will need to use available literature.

I attached a couple of files you may find helpful.

I am not sure your specific situation but all cone crusher foundations I have seen that are in the size range of your picture have been massive concrete structures.

Having designed steel bldg. supporting vibrating screens for coal washing plant some decades ago, we followed two design criterias;

i- Keep the frequency of supporting structure two times of frequency of vibrating machine,

ii- fatigue check of members supporting vibrating machinery..

The members ( beams ) supporting the vibrating machinery should be simple supported to avoid transfer of vibration to the whole str.

I hope, this respond answers to your thread..

Whatever your design calculations indicate , go at least one size up on your structures. If you dont know why I suggest this , go find a cone in operation and watch it for 10 minutes.

Thanks to you all!

@ Ideem, thanks for the reference.

@ miningman, without doubt, we will do what you noted plus a very generous safety factores on the demand side. I was just looking for an industry standard to support the assumptions on some of the serviceability limits.
