Hello Engineers,
I am designing a SCO2 Brayton cycle for my job,
as i understand, η compressor = (h2s - h1)/(h2-h1) since here we are putting energy to the system & η expander = (h2-h1)/(h2s-h1) since here we are extracting energy from the system.
when i solve the eqn, for compressor h2>h2s & for expander h2s>h2, but that's not what i see in the excel sheet which i have linked with REFPROP(a software that does thermodynamic calculations). I see for compressor it's alright, but for expander i see h2>h2s. but the real problem is the graphs we plotted (for instance: exp 1 eff vs cycle efficiency) makes sense having that enthalpy values doesn't make sense.
please clarify if i misunderstood any of the above.
Thanks in advance
Rao
