Hey
Greetings!
I was studying ISO 5211:2001 "Industrial valves - Part-turn actuator attachment" standard and I am thinking how much importance dimension 'h1' holds in recent valve market?
Is it necessary to provide that much of depth on valve top mounting pad because most of the actuators I have looked on internet have a flat bottom surface?
What are your views on this?
Thanks!

Thanks for the input but is that exact depth 'h1' important in the actuator mounting flange?
I'm stuck with the designing of the actuator mounting flange because I can't see the importance of that exact depth.
Hope someone can clear this doubt.
Thanks!

The standard requires the h1 recess in the valve. Standard also says mating spigot in the actuator is optional. If your customer approves, then you do not need to include the h1 in the valve. Since it is optional in the actuator, h1 in the valve may or may not be needed.

Thanks @bcd that statement clears many doubts in mind and makes work easy for me.
Kudos!
