THE LONG

A while back, member @Trenno brought it to my attention that IStructE was doing a webinar on the design of transfer slabs. And that many of their sketches looked very similar to the ones that we've bandied about here over the years in the course of our many, many discussions on transfer slabs.

I missed the webinar because it was broadcast in the wee hours Canada time. So I was pretty excited when I saw that IStructE had put out a design guide mirroring the webinar. I was all prepped to pay big bucks for it and was very pleasantly surprised to find it offered free of charge.

Yeah, I wish that it was 200p instead of 20p. That said, there is very little specific information available on this topic that I'm aware of so a little something strikes me as much better than practically nothing.

Thanks for bumping this one up to the top. It got lost in my news feed. I actually do not touch these structures ever (i'm just a peasant engineer after all), so this is a nice PDF to have for recreational reading.
