Curious if anybody has ever delved into automated stiffness modification with ETABS, particularly for highrise tower models.

Proposed automated workflow:

1) Set wall and header beams to uncracked.
2) Run model and extract results.
3) Determine what elements are cracked and calculate associated Ieff.
4) Re-run model with updated stiffness modifiers.
5) Repeat process until convergence.

This should be achievable with some in-house written code and ETABS OAPI. Obviously this would all need to happen with some degree of rationalisation to keep things practical.

Stage construction modelling is the way to carry the analyses. If the routine be developed for the one as u r curious, it would increase the processing time tremendously and could only be implemented for certain highly special nature of works.
