We run a Mazak Super Turbo X-510 1500 watt laser and are having trouble cutting stainless with nitrogen assist gas. We're not quite understang why, but we keep getting a jagged edge on one side of the cut. The jagged edge seems to be the side closest to the clamps when traveling in the X axis. When traveling in the Y axis the jagged edge jumps from one side to the other. We checked the nozzle (with scotch tape) and it seems to be centered properly. We have also tried to increase the gas pressure to 7kg(according to the gauge on the nozzle; i think thats about 100psi) and we have tried to speed the feedrate up. We would appreciate any feedback anyone can give. Also, if anyone has any cutting conditions for .250 or .125 zinc and any cutting conditions for Lexan it would help us very much.
