keyway tolerances 1

Can anyone advise what tolerance class should be used on the bore of a bore and keyed coupling i.e H8?

Forgot to add:

For shafts 10 to 22mm diameter the keyway/key depth tolerance is +0.1mm and it is +0.2mm for shafts 22 to 110mm diameter.

The width of the keyway is usually a P9 tolerance: the key needs to be pressed in (small rubber hammer will do), and cannot fall out.

Kieran88 - Find DIN 6880 - bright key steel, dim's and tol..
Square key steel ISO tol. field h9.

For keyways:
DIN 6885 T1, T2, T3
On shaft: Tight fit P9, light fit N9
In bore: Tight fit P9, light fit JS9

Based on ISO Recommendation Nr. 1084 - Rectangular and square keys and their corresponding keyways.

Thanks for all the advice guys, i should have thought about the thread title as i was enquiring about the bore tolerances in relation to bore and keys.

Would you still use ISO tolerances on imperial shafts and bores?

Kieran88 - yes. Look at your MHB. All ISO Tol. are given in imperial.
