Client in a 25 year home in Florida wants to replace all HVAC ductwork with the safest and most effective system. Existing system is fiberglass and fibers have leaked through light fixtures and air vents. My question is: what are your experiences and what would you recommend to this client?. Also, maybe you could share cost info.

(We will get a ME involved before we act on this one.)

Thank you.

As a tin basher I second Chris conley's suggestion.
However I am seeing more and more ( trac rat) homes being done all the way with flex duct from the air handler.
It makes me shudder.

The best choice for duct work for delivering air throughout a house is round rigid duct work, however, the fittings from round to rectangular transitions create resistance to airflow and should be used with care

I'm also seeing more 'painted silver cardboard' in residential homes...really.... cardboard?
