Lifting Beam Design 1

I've seen several posts on the design of lifting beams/ spreader bars. A design standard is out that I wasn't familiar with, and haven't seen referenced elsehwere, as a companion to ASME B30.20:

Please looked at recently published ASCE journal "Practice Periodical on Structural Design and Construction" May 2008.

Mr. David Buerr has published four papers on this subject.
He also gave ahand calculation example.
