I have a problem with the choice of material for the line shaft bearing in vertical pump. The pump pumps liquid ammonia at -11. Previously, a PTFE bushing was used and the material was seized.
Will you help in choosing the material?
What kinde of material for line shaft bearing can we use for liqid gas e.g. ammonia, propylene

Also consider thermal contraction. Polymers can shrink considerably compared to metal components.

I believe that a polymer sleeve bearing should be split so that it does not shrink tight onto the shaft when cold.
