Lock parts/products/drawings from editting.

Is there a way to lock a part or make it "read-only" to force a "save as" from within Catia? I've noticed in the Save Management window it shows attributes for parts (ie. read,write) but I haven't been able to figure out how to change them.

Any ideas would be excellent!

Catia picks up the Windows property "Read Only" when it loads files. So for example, you could have a network folder set to Read Only, and users would then have to Save As somewhere else to keep any modifications. As far as I can tell, Catia only checks this property when it first loads the file. If you change the Windows read only status later, Catia doesn't know about it.

Otherwise, you need a PDM system such as VPLM or SmarTeam.
