Lock Torque Test

We check out various hydraulic motors; one of the tests are lock rotor. What does the lock rotor accomplish and demonstrate?

Recommended for you

That the motor won't break under a stalled condition. That the motor has no "dead spots", i.e. areas where the start/stalled torque is lower than spec.
 
boo1, what do you look for in the locked rotor test?
Stall leakage?
Torque vs. Pressure?
Gear, assuming gear motor, bind requiring more motor break-in?
